In Detroit, the project involves work in an existing 218 foot wide transmission line corridor containing Sections 203, 66, and 67 that traverses the central portion of the town. In this corridor, which extends for approximately 6.9 miles from the Pittsfield to Plymouth town lines, the project involves:
- The installation of a new 345 kV transmission line along the southern side of the corridor (Section 2023). The new line will be primarily constructed on wooden H-frame structures typically 75 feet in height;
- The rebuilding of the existing 115 kV line (Section 203) from the Detroit substation to the Plymouth town line. The rebuilt line will be relocated to the northern side of the corridor and will be primarily constructed using single pole wooden structures that are approximately 75 feet in height;
- The rebuilding of 0.1 miles of existing 115 kV transmission lines (Sections 66 and 67) from the Detroit substation to the Pittsfield town line using single pole wooden structures that are approximately 75 feet in height.
